Nikos Kastrinios – Project Manager of the Orasis Acupuncture Center
Mr. Nikos Kastrinios holds the position of Project Manager at the Orasis Acupuncture Center and his involvement in the field of health care started in 2003.
He holds an MBA in Health Economics & Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona School of Economics & Management, regarded as one of Europe’s leading economic schools. His master’s degree (MSc) was awarded by the University of Bristol in Great Britain (MSc in blood transfusion & transplantation – ranked 4th British University during his study years). His initial studies were in Biomedical Science (BSc Hons) and were carried out at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Mr Kastrinios’ involvement as a biologist specializing in immunology in the early years of his professional career (Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Center, United Kingdom and Iaso Obstertic & Maternal Clinic, Athens Greece) enabled him to interact with broad groups of patients and healthcare professionals.
In 2014 he began his active involvement in medical tourism business activities, first as a freelancer and then as a Business Development Executive in Medical Tourism companies.
His participation and contribution to an ambitious and innovative project related to Medical Acupuncture in people with severe vision problems is a humanitarian effort for him as well as for the entire scientific and administrative team of the Orasis Acupuncture Center. This new therapeutic approach that our patients are provided with is considerably important for him. A particular influence on his decision was initiated by the personal case of the founder of ORASIS Acupuncture Center Mr. Vassilis Spyros, a patient himself suffering from the incurable disease of Stargardt’s (Macular Degeneration of the Eye).
He has a strong belief in the general effectiveness of Medical Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of a significant number of health conditions – in addition to those of vision – in combination with Classical Western Medicine. He focuses on the further development of the domestic and international plans of the Orasis Acupuncture Center.
He is married to the postdoctoral researcher in the field of Physiotherapy at the University of the West Attica, Dr Maria Moutzouri and they have a 5 year old son.
His main hobbies include sports with a soft spot for basketball, reading, cinema and he also loves nature and travelling.
